Day 1. Tokyo to Nara

We woke up at 4 am. Well rested. Scratch that. Time for coffee. Dasha insists we MUST buy all sort of yummies at 7/11. Apparently it’s a thing, according to TikTok. So we did.

Who would have though that breakfast on a train with snacks from 7/11 would occupy a place next to the high end breakfasts that I was fortunate to enjoy in different parts of the Globe ??? With all honesty – it was delish!!!!

We have 2 hours ride on a speed train from Tokyo to Kyoto.

Dasha is making a video report on the 7/11 breakfast menu

NARA. THE DAWN OF JAPAN.

We finally made it to historical Nara! while Dasha settled into the Royal Nara Hotel, I quickly checked into the MASCC conference. After all, this is why we are here.

Waiting for taxi at the hotel lobby

New hungry friends

At the temple

After spending time at the Nara park, we returned to the hotel and decided to uss the spa and pool. Little that we knew it was a traditional communal bath, where my american baby girl experienced her first cultural shock watching grandmas gliding around in the Eve’s attire. She decided not to pursue the communal bath experience and went back to the room and her phone, while I wholeheartedly enjoyed the sauna and hot spring mineral pool, followed by fantastic Japanese full body massage.

Anticipating the SPA 😂

We fell asleep at 5 pm. Because jet lag. It is now midnight, perfect time to finish Day 1 of the blog and publish it. Night night.
