NARA DAY 2. MASCC 2023 Conference

Jet lagged, went to sleep at 5 pm, woke up at 1:00 am, went back to sleep and here we are at 7:00 am traditional Japanese Yum yum.

Start the day like a champion – with miso soup

Multinational Association of Supportive Care in Cancer ( MASCC)

This organization unites doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and other medical disciplines from all over the world. Together we share knowledge and experience on how to support cancer patients and make their quality of life better. Feeling humbled and privileged to be here.

Sharing our study with the world – got lots of questions, which is always a good sign!

We left the conference just in time to kiss good bye to the gates of the beautiful ( as seen on pictures) Isuien Garden, hence another day at the Nara park. Back to the deers!

Hello friend, remember me?

Street food – rice something. Sweet rice balls dipped in teriyaki sauce.
Matcha-Vanilla ice-cream cone

From the Nara park we were aimlessly roaming around and ended up in the exhibition featuring special technology, called Seismic Isolation. It changes violent shaking into gentle shaking during earthquake and thus saving lives and structures. I believe this technology was used in Stanford’s 500P building design.

Earthquake violent shaking demo ( equivalent to magnitude of 6)
Magnitude of 6 is damn scary.

Yogan -in. Great Buddha’s Left Hand. Means to grant people’s wishes. Full size replica.
Learn something new every day – apparently deers drink water like people, not like dogs or cats.
This little Bambi is so teeny tiny! Could’ve been born a few days ago!
Enchanted forest
Zen.
Not sure who and why. We did not take the tour and there was no sign. But the size and facial expression speaks volume

We are calling it a day. A very good day. Let’s see if it will be jetlag vs us 1:1 this night!
