1:1 with jetlag – we slept through the night up until 4:30 am! Breakfast at the hotel, then quick final plenary session at the conference and we are off to the train station for 3 hour ride to Osaka airport!
It’s so much fun to travel with a teenager. I feel like I am governed by TikTok on this trip. Train ride to Osaka is filled with more TikTok approved and recommended treats. Mochi donut was not bad! Check mark.
2 hours train ride, followed by 1 hour and 45 min flight and we are in Okinawa. And here begins the true adventure. My relatively decent command of English is absolutely useless here. My prior research on bus timetable and tons of cash is the wallet for taxi is equally useless. Good thing my fantastic companion is a trooper and adventurer! One day, when i retire, i will write a funny short story about this day! But for now – we are here and ready to enjoy the ocean first thing tomorrow morning.
Before I call it a day, i want to send my outmost gratitude to the Universe towards a complete stranger, who helped us get to our destination with so much grace and tact. May he always be blessed and rewarded for his kindness!
