SINGAPORE. Day 3.

Time for learning from the crème de la crème in the Academia. Feeling beyond humbled and absolutely privileged to be here. So good to see old friends from all over the Globe and to make new ones!

Ready. The one on the left to learn, the two on the right to share the knowledge!
Privileged to see and hear world renown Dr. Scott Levin ( famous for performing the first bilateral hands transplant) sharing the story of preserving the function of the arm on a wounded warrior from Ukraine! This story hit too close to home.

The coolest experience! Makes one appreciate the tedious precision of the work a microsurgeon does!!
Women in surgery reception. First drink of the night.

And then the fun began. And did not end until 2:30 am. Girls night out!

The honour of choosing wine for the table.
Bon- bon. Hard liquor filled frozen buttery basil candies. Melt in your mouth immediately, allowing the liquor to pour our. Pre-appetizer #1. Very strong, yet delicious.
Dont ask what it was. It was not listed on the menu and good luck understanding what our waiter was telling with authentic french accent. This tasted like pesto filled tart. Creamy and delicious. Pre-appetizer #2.
Same here – no clue what it was for could not understand the waiter. None of us could. Something creamy with turmeric. It was ok. Pre-appetizer #3.
Pre-appetizer #4. Again, clueless. Tasted like baked pumpkin ravioli. Tender and sweet with a hint of black pepper.
Freshly baked warm rye bread with butter. To die for. Pre – appetizer #5.
Palate cleanser. Almond flour dough filled with finely chopped apple tasting substance in some divine read sauce. Sweet and tart. Amazing.
Appetizer #1. Chawanmushi. Shrimp with marigold and our out if this world sauce.
Appetizer #2. Tomatoe and tuna tart. O.M.G.
Appetizer #3. Les Berlingots. Wild mushroom dumplings. Out if all, this was my best favorite. But mushrooms and me are BFF, hence this got to the top of the list. This is how they were presented.
And this is how they looked on the place when the lid came off. The best.
Main course. Pigeon. The two green blobs are gyoza stuffed with offal and confit leg. Yum. Very.
Vitamin Cheese.
Palate cleansing something. Fruit and berries and jello underneath. The mousse on top is the weirdest thing – you put it on your tongue and it dissolves before you close your mouth. Almost like flavored air.
Dessert. White peach with red currant and verbena. Interesting, yet i’s rather had fresh plain peach. This one had a taste of canned peach.
Post dessert something. Mini tart with delicious cream on the bed of bee pollen.
Post dessert sweets. Mini Pavlova with basil cream and chocolate candy. Very very good.
Could not not capture these gorgeous hydrangeas – always remind me of grandma’s summer house and my childhood.

After 7 course dinner my soul was longing for lullaby and pillow, however when you are hanging out with the 30 year olds, you get dragged to the bar instead. And then to another one.

We crushed the Presidential dinner afterparty for faculty.
Stanford plastic surgery team. Part of the team. The other part was somewhere at a different bar.
Singapore at night. Walk to the hotel at 2:30 am. The city never sleeps. Still reminds me of Vegas. Night night. New day tomorrow.
